Burgers & Beer

Classic Jackson Hole Spots for the perfect pairing.

Some days, nothing beats a burger and a beer — simple, satisfying and exactly what you need after a day on the slopes or tackling some other wintry adventure. Jackson Hole has no shortage of spots serving up juicy, flavorful burgers alongside cold, refreshing — and often locally-made — brews. Here are a few local favorites worth sinking your teeth into:

Liberty Burger

If you’re craving a spot where serious burgers meet a lively, family-friendly vibe, Liberty Burger delivers. Just off Town Square, it’s got a laid-back yet buzzing atmosphere, bold and creative flavor combinations and a solid selection of local beers on tap — perfect for a no-fuss, high-satisfaction burger-and-beer outing.

What we’re ordering: A Napa Burger (piled high with gorgonzola, wild arugula, oven-roasted tomatoes, green olives, onion and a basil garlic aioli) alongside a crisp glass of Wilson IPA from Roadhouse Brewing.

Sidewinders American Grill

A go-to for locals and visitors alike, Sidewinders has mastered the art of the all-American burger. Whether you’re at the original spot on Broadway or the laid-back Wilson location, you’ll find generous patties stacked with melty cheese, crispy bacon and all the trimmings. Pair your pick with one of their 30 beers on tap — many from regional breweries — and you’ve got a post-adventure meal that never misses.

What we’re ordering: The BBQ Burger (topped with onion strings, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and bacon) while sipping a Wind River Blonde from Wind River Brewing in Pinedale, WY.

Roadhouse Pub & Eatery

It doesn’t get much more “burger and beer” than a restaurant run by one of Jackson’s best-known breweries. The Roadhouse Burger is a beauty — thick, juicy, and loaded with flavor — while the tap list features a rotating lineup of Roadhouse Brewing Co.’s own creations. Located right on Town Square, it’s the perfect place to toast to a day well spent in the Tetons.

What we’re ordering: A juicy bison burger (served with bourbon bacon jam, arugula, fried onions and cheddar) alongside a Family Vacation Lager — one of Roadhouse Brewing’s standby classic beers.

Snake River Brewing

Wyoming’s oldest brewery knows what it’s doing — and not just with beer. Snake River Brewing’s “stacked burgers” are as hearty as they sound, best enjoyed with one of their classic pints like the Snake River Pale Ale or Pako’s IPA. It’s laid-back, lively and as local as it gets — an essential stop for anyone chasing that true Jackson Hole flavor.

What we’re ordering: A Big Hole Burger (special sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and white cheddar) and a tall, cold award-winning Jenny Lake Lager.

Mangy Moose Restaurant & Saloon

Mangy Moose Restaurant and Saloon

If you’ve ever après-skied in Teton Village, you already know the Mangy Moose vibe — loud, legendary and always a good time. Their menu leans into hearty mountain fare, but their burgers are top-notch too, from bison to beef. Grab a local beer, soak up the live music and call it a day well-lived.

What we’re ordering: The Hungry Cowboy Double Stack Burger (wagyu beef patty slathered in Wyoming Whiskey bbq sauce, blue cheese and crispy onion straws) and a refreshing Mangy Moose Get Loose Ale from Melvin Brewing.

Hayden’s Post

At the base of Snow King, Hayden’s Post is an under-the-radar gem for burger lovers. The menu includes several delicious options — think fresh toppings, soft buns and a perfect sear — all served up with a killer view of the mountain. With local brews on draft and a big fireplace inside, it’s cozy and quintessentially Jackson.

What we’re ordering: A hearty wagyu burger (topped with white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion and special sauce) and a nutty Saddle Bronc Brown Ale from Black Tooth Brewing.

StillWest Brewery & Grill

Still West Burger

If you’re looking to elevate the classic burger-and-beer combo, check out StillWest Brewery & Grill at the base of Snow King Mountain. With a brew-house bar, mountain-view patio and its own in-house beers to pair, it hits the sweet spot.

What we’re ordering: A StillWest Burger (stacked with American cheese, caramelized onions, thick cut bacon, tomato, lettuce and mayo, served on brioche bun) and a refreshing Love & Glory Mexican Lager, brewed on site.

Billy’s Burgers at The Virginian Lodge

Billy's Giant Burger

If you’re craving a no-nonsense, old-school burger with bold flavors, head to Billy’s. This beloved spot inside The Virginian Lodge serves half-pound patties cooked to perfection with zero pretension. Grab a seat at the counter or take it to the adjacent saloon for a cold beer — the kind of combo that reminds you why simple food done right is unbeatable.

What we’re ordering: A mouthwatering Double Bison Green Chili Smash Burger (double quarter pounder Wyoming bison patties, roasted Hatch chilies, grilled onions, a double shot of cheese and special sauce, served on a Hawaiian bun) and an Earned It IPA from local Snake River Brewing.

Jackson Drug & Original Soda Fountain

Jackson Drug burger

A true Jackson institution since 1919, Jackson Drug serves up nostalgia with every bite. Their smash burgers are fresh, flavorful and made with local beef from the owners’ generations-old ranch — and yes, they’ve got beer to go with it. This iconic spot on the Town Square has deep roots; it’s the perfect place to soak up some local history with your meal.

What we’re ordering: The Alpine Wrangler smash burger (generously topped with Swiss, sauteed mushrooms, huckleberry onion jam and arugula) and a thirst-quenching Teton Amber Ale from Grand Teton Brewing. Also, don’t miss their $15 special smash burger & beverage deal, available from 4-6pm. The special includes a Cowboy Classic burger, fries, and your choice of a domestic beer, house wine, or soda.

In the end — whether you’re après-ing, celebrating or just giving yourself the night off from cooking, Jackson Hole’s burger-and-beer scene has you covered. Classic or craft, beef or bison, pilsner or porter — this is comfort food mountain-style, best enjoyed with good company.

Melissa Thomasma

In full rebellion against the unpredictable climate of the Rocky Mountains, you can find Melissa on her Teton Valley deck grilling any month of the year. Typically in flip flops. Snow, rain, wind… no weather is too fierce. She’s a lover of peaches in any form, has a borderline addiction to arugula, and (strangely) has been known to drizzle soy sauce on pizza. But even more than she loves her stand mixer and cast iron collection, she adores cooking for her husband and two kids. When this Jackson Hole native isn’t scurrying around her messy kitchen, she’s probably outside floating the river, hiking, camping, fishing, or, well… grilling.
