Roadhouse Brewery Group acquires Melvin Brewing Company.
In December, Roadhouse Brewery Group announced they officially acquired Melvin Brewing Company and the Alpine production facility. Two of the most beloved breweries in Wyoming, Melvin and Roadhouse, make it official and become a powerhouse of beer production!
Melvin started in Jackson with the idea to make beers that are daring enough to serve a generation of Jacksonites that are as passionate about the mountains as they are for beers. After winning Small Brewpub of the Year at GABF in 2015, they opened their production facility in Alpine. Sticking to their principles, Melvin has continued to serve more than just beer in the Wyoming community. They support local nonprofits with financial support, beer for fundraising events and volunteers on a regular basis.

When searching for a buyer, Zander Doroski, president of Melvin Brewing’s Board of Directors, said the board sought to find a company who would, “retain and grow our staff, valued our partnership and shared vision with the town of Alpine, and had the experience and leadership to grow the Melvin brand and distribution platform. In Roadhouse, we believe we found a perfect fit.”

Roadhouse, a part of the Fine Dining Restaurant Group, is another staple brewery in any Jacksonites rotation. Co-founded by home brewer, Colby Cox, and restauranteur Gavin Fine, the brewery was formed with the idea to create exceptional beer that pairs perfectly with incredible food.
Cox notes, “Both breweries have a similar origin story, which began with the love of craft beer, home brewing, and the mountain lifestyle. We are carving out a space where psychedelic rockers and hip-hop revolutionaries come to party together.”
Roadhouse has a vision that includes maintaining both breweries and expanding production. Fine commented, “When we set out, we wanted to live at the intersection of beer, food, and music. In this sense, Melvin is our soul mate.” With the idea of an expanded tap room at the Alpine facility, and a state-of-the-art rotary canning line, the marriage of the two breweries will be able to produce upwards of 80,000 barrels in the near future. Cheers to brewing soulmates and more beers!
