Whether you are grabbing some ribs from your favorite barbecue spot in town or firing up your backyard (or camp) grill, you need a good sauce to go along with it. Jackson’s Blue Collar Restaurant Group, who fires up the grill at Bubba’s, shared one of their favorite classic barbecue sauce recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 quart ketchup
- 1 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire
- 1 1/2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 1/4 tablespoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons whiskey
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in sauce pot and bring to boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cool.
- Store in a refrigerator.
