In celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, we asked K9 Kitchen to develop a special pup-tail recipe to include our furry friends in on the fun. Many holiday foods are not safe for our dogs (here’s a list) so why not give them something extra special, with a recipe crafted by the experts!

Teton Tail-Wagger puptail, by K9 Kitchen
Ingredients
- 1–2 tablespoons plain pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling!)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4–1/3 cup water (or goat’s milk)
- A tiny dash of ground cinnamon (do not use nutmeg)
- One thin apple slice (remove seeds)
Instructions
- In a small bowl or mason jar, whisk together pumpkin and applesauce until smooth.
- Slowly stir in the water (or goat’s milk) until it reaches a drinkable consistency.
- Add the tiniest pinch of cinnamon.
- Pour into your dog’s favorite bowl or a small pup cup.
- Garnish with one thin apple slice
