Stillwest Head Brewer, Mikey Agricola, has teamed up Storm Peak Brewery to create an exciting lager.
Community, camaraderie, creativity is what the craft beer scene is all about, and Jackson breweries are no exception. This year, Stillwest Brewery out of Jackson, and Storm Peak Brewing in Steamboat, Co., have paired up to serve a special collaboration beer at the annual Collaboration Fest, on March 25 in Denver.
The festival, put on by the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG), allows for as much creativity as possible. The only rule? To enter, you must collaborate with a Colorado brewery. For Stillwest Head Brewer, Mikey Agricola, it was an easy decision to team up with Storm Peak again after a few other successful collaborations while brewing with Roadhouse. Roadhouse Brewing Company is also participating at this weekend’s event in collaboration with Odell Brewing Company out of Fort Collins.

This year, Stillwest and Storm Peak got together in the Stillwest facilities to brew up a chestnut Amber Lager. The Ghost of Paulie Chestnuts is made with roasted Italian chestnuts imported with the help of the folks over at Bona Furtuna, also based out of Jackson, and Adeena Hops from Roy Farms.

This well-balanced, medium-bodied lager has all the tasting notes you would want out of an amber. Caramel, malty flavors on the front end tickle your tastebuds, while the toasty chestnut flavor on the finish leaves you wanting another sip. The beer is currently on tap for your tasting pleasure at Stillwest Brewery & Grill or the Taproom on the ground level. The Brewery & Grill is open Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. -to 9 p.m., and the Taproom is open Thursday to Saturday, 3 p.m. to close.

Be on the lookout for up coming events, like Southern Style Brunch every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or the first annual Robe Run, Thursday, March 30. In partnership with Plover Robes, participants will gather at Stillwest at 3 p.m. to skin up Snow King and ski down to enjoy discounted beers, raffles, DJ UnAmi and more for anyone in a robe from 4-8 p.m. So roll out of bed and hit the slopes to celebrate spring skiing as it’s meant to be enjoyed — in a robe, with a beer!
