On a recent trip to the Northwest I was looking at a coffee shop menu, eyeing over the prices: cappuccino $3.50, macchiato $2, London Fog $3.00, espresso $3.50… Wait what was that? Something didn’t fit in the list of common Italian names for coffee beverages. Wondering if I might have stumbled across my new favorite morning drink, I ordered the London Fog. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but what I got seemed to be the physical embodiment of the name. Made with Earl Grey Tea, steamed milk, and vanilla syrup, the London Fog is slowly creeping into coffee shops all over, including Jackson.
For the curious, Persephone Bakery, Picnic, Cowboy Coffee, Pearl St. Bagels, and Jackson Whole Roasters all offer their own version of the hot beverage. If you are looking to make one at home we have you covered with an insiders guide on how to whip up the perfect London Fog.
