When winter settles into the Tetons and the valley is wrapped in snow, there’s nothing better than finding a warm, welcoming place to gather, refuel, and linger a little longer. Enter Penny’s Pub at Moose Creek Ranch – a cozy winter hideaway where fires crackle, the staff is friendly, comfort food is served, and mountain charm comes together just right.
Tucked away along Moose Creek, this laid-back pub feels especially magical in the colder months. Snow blankets the ranch, steam rises from mugs and pizzas alike, and the pace of life slows down, exactly how winter evenings should be spent.

Winter Comfort Food Done Right
Open Fridays through Sundays from 5 to 8 p.m., the pub delivers handmade, wood-fired pizzas, crafted with dough fermented for days to achieve that perfect balance of crispy, chewy and charred. The menu boasts ten different pies and one weekly rotating special highlighting quality ingredients and local touches.
Order the Idaho Spud for a true Idaho-pizza experience, or the staff’s favorite, the Elevated Pepperoni, which is topped with local basil and hot honey. For those who are into pineapple on their pizza (me!) the Spicy Hawaiian does not disappoint. Keep things fresh and pair one of their three salads alongside your pizza for a balanced fireside meal. And no meal is final at Penny’s without finishing on a sweet note with their creamy soft-serve.
Insider Tip: There’s a secret menu item, a S’mores pizza, that is the ultimate sugar rush, and only made when asked for specifically.

Not hungry (said me, never)? Even if you’re just stopping in for a drink, the bar and lodge are the perfect places to unwind with a glass of wine or a local brew. Both spaces are cozy, welcoming, and ideal for swapping stories from the day’s adventures or striking up a conversation with new friends. For those feeling a little playful, there’s also a game room featuring a pool table, tabletop chess and tic-tac-toe, plus plenty of cards and board games ready to be enjoyed well into the evening.
Check out their full menu here. Walk-ins are welcomed, or reserve your table here, we suggest sitting fireside!
Say Hello to Penny
No visit is complete without spotting Penny herself, the gentle Great Pyrenees who inspired the pub’s name and has become part of its soul. In winter, she’s often found lounging nearby, unfazed by the snow and always happy to greet guests. Her calm presence adds to the sense that Penny’s Pub isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a place that feels lived-in, loved, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

Why Penny’s Pub Shines in Winter
There’s something special about finding a spot that feels just as good in winter as it does in summer, and Penny’s Pub nails it. It’s warm without being stuffy, elevated without being fussy, and rooted in the kind of mountain hospitality that keeps you coming back. Plus the staff is incredibly warm, instantly making you feel part of Penny’s family.
Whether you’re staying at Moose Creek Ranch or making the short drive from Victor/Driggs, or over the pass (yes it’s worth it!) for dinner, Penny’s Pub is a reminder that winter dining doesn’t have to be rushed. Come hungry, stay cozy, and let the snow fall outside.
