Snake River Brewing Completes Renovations

First the downstairs and now the upstairs of the long-time local favorite has been remodeled.

Over the past year, one of Jackson Hole’s most beloved downtown locales has enjoyed a thorough glow-up. Snake River Brewing, lovingly known as “Jackson’s Living Room” for its relaxed, community-focused vibe, has reopened its doors after the second phase of renovations. And we’re confident that you’ll love the results.

“We’d been planning to renovate for a while, and as COVID became the norm, we decided it was the ideal time to shut down and complete all of the projects we’d been considering,” says Elliot Wilkins, Sales Director for the brewery’s western territory. “It all started with the need to replace our HVAC system — which isn’t a small job — and it just snowballed from there. We’re glad it’s finally ready to be enjoyed by our locals and visitors alike.”

While there are plenty of new features to get excited about, the things at the heart of Snake River Brewing that have made it such a beloved spot for so many years, have endured. In addition to more beers on tap on both levels, the restaurant now offers elevator access and ADA seating at both the existing downstairs bar and the new upstairs bar. An expanded private dining room makes it an ideal spot for parties, and greater access to TV screens throughout the restaurant means you won’t miss a second of the day’s most nail-biting game.

After nearly a full year of renovation work, Snake River Brewing is thrilled to reopen its doors and show off some exciting upgrades.

Perhaps even more exciting are the tantalizing new additions to the menu. In addition to standby favorites — including Thursday’s buffalo chicken sandwiches for lunch cheeseburger pizza all day — the Brew Pub’s offerings now include buffalo half chicken on Saturdays and Sundays. To shake a wintry chill, order up the new braised beef short ribs, slow-simmered in natural jus and served with a subtle Moroccan flair, including butternut squash, preserved lemon, pistachios, dried dates, olives, parsley, couscous and quinoa with fried onions.

Other new offerings include barbacoa tacos — Guajillo-braised beef short rib wrapped in soft corn tortillas, topped with cotija cheese, cilantro, and pickled red onions — and a pulled pork sandwich with applewood-smoked barbecue pork shoulder on a Parker House bun, served with kimchi, flawlessly-crisp pub fries, and gochujang aioli.

Fear not; your longtime favorites have not been replaced. Classics like the bison burger, California pizza, award-winning Wyoming bison and beef chili, and the baked-from-scratch pretzel are all still waiting for you in “The Living Room.” And, need we say it? An ever-pleasing lineup of expertly-brewed beer.

New menu additions, including a Saturday and Sunday-only offering of a Buffalo half chicken, complement the beloved eatery’s physical upgrades.

“We’re also looking forward to year-round dining on the upstairs terrace as well as a new indoor fireplace,” Elliot says. “In-house events like trivia night will be back soon, and we also plan to host live music on the lawn with the outdoor fire pit roaring. Stay tuned for exact dates and times on those upcoming events, but we’re really excited to see them happen soon!”

Whether you’re looking for a warm and relaxed scene after a long day of snowy fun, a dinner that will satisfy even the hungriest adventurer, or the ideal spot to enjoy some enthusiastic company while watching the game, Snake River Brewing should be high on the list.

Melissa Thomasma

In full rebellion against the unpredictable climate of the Rocky Mountains, you can find Melissa on her Teton Valley deck grilling any month of the year. Typically in flip flops. Snow, rain, wind… no weather is too fierce. She’s a lover of peaches in any form, has a borderline addiction to arugula, and (strangely) has been known to drizzle soy sauce on pizza. But even more than she loves her stand mixer and cast iron collection, she adores cooking for her husband and two kids. When this Jackson Hole native isn’t scurrying around her messy kitchen, she’s probably outside floating the river, hiking, camping, fishing, or, well… grilling.
