START Using the START Bus Airport Shuttle!

Arriving in and departing from Jackson Hole is a whole lot easier, and a little more aligned with our mountain-town values, thanks to the START Bus Airport Shuttle. This winter, the START Bus Airport Shuttle offers its third pilot season, providing a simple, affordable way to get from the Jackson Hole Airport to town without the hassle of rental cars, parking stress or coordinating rides.

Running December 14, 2024 through April 6, 2025, this service is designed with both locals and visitors in mind, because whether you’re chasing powder days or catching a flight out on Spring Break, getting to the airport on the START Bus is easy.

A More Sustainable Way to Travel

In a place as special as Jackson Hole, how we move matters. The airport shuttle is part of a broader effort to reduce congestion and carbon emissions in the valley, encouraging travelers and locals to swap individual car trips for shared transportation. It’s a small shift that makes a big impact, especially during the busy winter season when flights are at their peak.

What to Expect

Think: smooth, simple and surprisingly convenient.

  • Service from Miller Park: 5:00 am – 9:00 pm daily
  • Service from Jackson Hole Airport: 5:40 am – 9:40 pm daily (last bus will wait until 10:00 pm to depart JAC)
  • Extra trips offered during peak mid-day flights
  • Coach-style buses with luggage storage (yes, your ski and golf bags fit)
  • Quick ride time—about 28 minutes from town to the airport and vice versa
  • Easy stops in town, including:
    • Miller Park
    • Antler Inn
    • Deloney & Willow
    • Home Ranch Welcome Center

Whether you’re heading to your hotel, a rental or home, the route keeps things streamlined without unnecessary detours.

What It Costs

Affordable enough to make you rethink that rental car or uber ride:

  • $10 adults (one-way)
  • $5 for seniors, kids (12 & under), and individuals with disabilities
  • Free for kids 8 & under (with an adult)

Tickets can be purchased in advance via the Transit App (available to download here: apple or google) , or you can pay exact cash when boarding.

Spring Break, But Make It Seamless

For locals, late winter and early spring mean one thing: it’s time to trade powder days for beach days (or at least a quick escape out of town). Instead of scrambling for a ride, paying for an uber/taxi, or dealing with long-term airport parking, the shuttle makes getting out of town just as easy as getting in. Hop on in town, skip the parking logistics and start your vacation the second you step on board.

Getting Around From There

Heading to Teton Village? Après plans already calling? You can easily transfer from Miller Park to other START Bus routes, including service to the Village, making it possible to go from plane to powder to après margarita without ever getting behind the wheel.

Why Winter?

Winter visitors tend to stay put. Skiing, dining, and soaking up Jackson don’t need a personal rental vehicle. That makes it the perfect season to test a shuttle system like this, where demand is high and routes can stay efficient.

The Bigger Picture

This is still a pilot program, meaning its future depends on how much it’s used this season. Ridership is key, and overall performance will help determine whether airport shuttle service becomes a permanent fixture in Jackson Hole transportation. So if you love it, and want it to become a permanent service… Ride it!

The Takeaway

Between powder days, dinner reservations, and early morning flights, winter in Jackson Hole moves fast. The START Bus Airport Shuttle offers a way to simplify your travel plans, while also supporting a more sustainable future for the place we all love.

So next time you land, or head out for that spring break escape, skip the rental counter… your ride is already waiting.
