Picnic Offers Reasons to Start Your (Drinking) Day Earlier

Nathan Adams/Picnic

Wine consultant Nathan Adams helped Picnic curate an exclusive wine list.

If there weren’t already enough good reasons to start your day at Picnic, there are now more. The restaurant has been working with wine consultant Nathan Adams to cultivate an intriguing wine list to accompany its daytime theme.

Starting with pairings suited for breakfast, brunch and lunch, the wines are not what you will find elsewhere in town. The options are geared toward approachable wines and vineyards that follow biodynamic practices, said Adams. Most also come from smaller wine makers that Adams has sought out and worked with to be able to offer options in Jackson that aren’t found on many menus.

Adam’s intent with the wine list was directed to offer lighter wines that pair well with daytime drinking. These choices, he said, not only complement the food, they are affordable, too, with most falling in the $20-30 range. And while Picnic encourages adding alcohol to your daytime routine when time allows, the restaurant is also open until 5 p.m. so it is a nice option for an afternoon outing as well.

Adam’s top three wines at Picnic not to miss include: Broc Cellars ‘Love” white blend, RPM Gamay noir, and Tendu, white blend. Also to note, the wines are all from America and some are sourced from unexpected, up-and-coming wine regions in Colorado and, even, New Mexico.
