Whether you need a quick to-go lunch, or have time to get cozy inside the coffee shop, Snake River Roasting Company’s new lunch menu items hit the spot when in the mood for something hot, delicious and unique.
It’s soup season, and the sausage and white bean soup with kale, garlic, onion, chicken stock, herbs, andouille sausage and potatoes, is perfect for colder days. Share a bowl with a friend as an appetizer, or order a cup as a mid afternoon savory snack. Having both kale and sausage in the soup makes it feel stick to your bones, but also light at the same time.
If you’re a total waffle person, but love savory, the cheddar waffle grilled cheese checks all the boxes! A nice change from the usual sweet waffle offerings, this dipper style sandwich is created with a cheddar chive base with melted muenster, brie and American cheeses. Also in the sandwich, the rosemary red pepper jam is like grilled cheese candy – it delivers the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory. Add a cup of tomato soup to get the perfect dipped bite.
There are two more new sandwiches to their winter lunch menu: a carnitas sandwich and a winter caprese sandwich. The carnitas is perfect for when you’re craving something meaty and tangy, with a little spice. The winter caprese sandwich is an interesting combination of grilled sweet potato, burrata, charred broccoli pepita pesto and crispy kale on a baguette, that also pair well with a cup of tomato soup for dipping.
And if you’re looking for something a little lighter, the warm lentil and farro salad is a must. The confit cabbage makes it extra special, accompanying roasted shiitake mushrooms, ginger turmeric vinaigrette, pickled onion, crispy kale, toasted sesame and feta cheese. It’s a salad, but with a soup feel.
