Farmer’s Market Favorites

generation farmsThis Saturday celebrates one of our favorite days of the summer: the first farmer’s market on the Town Square. Tomorrow, starting at 8 a.m. and wrapping up at noon, you can head to the Town Square to get your fill of fresh fruit, vegetables and homemade goodies. I can’t wait to see what is new this year and hope my favorite farmer will be making elote again! Chefs from Bin22 will be preparing free treats.

This week also marks the opening of Sloan Bergien’s farm stand, located near the Movieworks plaza south of town. She offers fresh fruit and vegetables all day on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from our neighboring states. The stand is open from 10 a.m. til 6 p.m.

And since the People’s Market has already been operational for a couple of weeks, we have sought out new offerings and have a new vendor to tell you about: fresh chickens, turkey, pork, eggs, goat cheese and greens at Generation Farms. Be sure to check out their stand and ask about office delivery for eggs (if you can find 5 or more people who want eggs, they will make a special delivery). You can pre order meat from them as well. Later in the summer they may be fresh berries from their Idaho farm as well.
