This summer we are going to fill you in on some of our favorite stops at Jackson’s farmers markets. Last week I visited the first People’s Market of the season in it new base-of-Snow King location. Living only a block away, I may be biased, but I LOVE it!
I had gotten the heads up from Chippy Sherman that there were two guys making homemade hummus for sale, so I headed over to check it out. The duo behind Teton Hummus, Scott Dropinski and Chris Hogberg, are making four flavors each week. They have created some interesting and delicious combinations: truffled artichoke and Parmesan, bacon and date, tomato and basil and sweet Thai chili with green curry.
Instead of using canned beans, Teton Hummus is soaking and spouting fresh garbanzo beans to get the best flavor. They even use the liquid the beans are cooked in to make sure all the nutrients in the hummus are included.
Hogberg, who is also a chef at the Amangani, said they plan to be at the People’s Market and the farmers market on the Town Square later this season every week. They may introduce new flavors as the summer goes on.
Price for 8 ounces is $6 or two for $11.
