As the weather cools, it’s time to cozy up with some fall-inspired cocktails. And you’d be hard-press to find a better place to enjoy a delicious drink after a day exploring the great outdoors, than in Jackson Hole.

Whether you prefer a classic cocktail, or a unique twist on a traditional favorite, the cocktail menus in this mountain town offer a little something for everyone. Below, you’ll find just a few of the hidden gems giving us all the fall feels…

1. Local’s Lumbergh

Crafted with care from the expert bartenders at Local Restaurant & Bar, this cocktail combines the smooth and spicy notes of Rittenhouse Rye whiskey with the unique herbal bitterness of Averna liqueur. The addition of Allspice Dram adds a hint of warmth and depth, aka the perfect complement for fall. To balance out the flavors, a few dashes of Angostura bitters are added, giving the cocktail a subtle aromatic twist.

2. The Blue Lion’s Cat’s Meow

A cocktail that is both elegant and surprising, The Blue Lion’s Cat’s Meow is a combination of vodka, Cocchi Americano, lemon juice, caraway and fennel syrup. Together, the vodka and Cocchi Americano create a clean and refreshing taste, while the lemon juice adds a bright and citrusy kick. Getting the cocktail the autumn attention it deserves are the caraway and fennel syrup, which adds a distinctive and complex flavor profile with notes of licorice, anise and overall herbaceousness. Sub local Great Grey Gin from Jackson Hole Still Works for added botanicals.

3. Gather’s PBJ

Gather‘s PBJ cocktail is a playful and innovative take on a classic sandwich. This cocktail could be considered a year-round after-dinner drink for most, but we’d also deem it a warm and comforting complement to the cool fall weather. Made with Skrewball peanut butter whiskey, Chambord raspberry liqueur, Cappelletti Sfumato Rabarbaro and blackberry, this cocktail is both sweet and smoky with a nutty finish.

4. The Kitchen’s Manhattan Perfetto

Blending sophisticated and complex flavors, The Kitchen’s Manhattan Perfetto is crafted to please those looking for a classic, refined taste this fall. Rye whiskey serves as the base of the cocktail, adding a rich and bold taste, while Meletti, a sweet Italian liqueur, is added to bring a subtle, herbal and very slight bitterness. For its part, dry vermouth comes in to offer a more subtle and refreshing flavor, as well as to cut down on the sweetness, and simultaneously add some subtle flavors of herbs and botanicals which further complement the robust taste of rye. Finally, walnut bitters add depth and complexity to the drink.

5. FIGS’ Cocktail of the Week

A new tradition at Hotel Jackson, FIGS has introducing a cocktail of the week to its menu every Wednesday through Tuesday, crafted with love by its talented mixologists. One of the latest featured cocktail is called A Fig a Day, and is comprised of scotch, lemon juice, fig simple syrup, honey simple syrup and aquafaba. Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
