Couple Adventure with Culinary Delights at Turpin Meadow Ranch

Tuprin Meadow Ranch, situated just an hour north of town in Buffalo Valley, is where a timeless Western spirit meets modern luxury. Established in 1932, Tuprin Meadow Ranch has front-door access to 2.5 million acres of Teton wilderness, with numerous opportunity for year-round adventure. Their secluded location between Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks is the perfect escape for those who seek both unforgettable western experiences and relaxation.

In-house guests stay in upscale cabins with gas-lit fireplaces and handcrafted furnishings, and this summer are opportunities to go experience the Ranch as a day and/or dining guest are offered. We had the pleasure in joining the Ranch for two experiences: A Summer Day at the Ranch, and Dinner and Dewrangle.

A Summer Day at the Ranch

Get ready for a fun-filled day, starting with luxury shuttle service from town to ferry you to the ranch. Guests can choose between two guided activities for the day’s adventures, including horseback riding, UTV rental, Fly Fishing 101, hiking or e-biking.

We chose horseback riding to start our day, and immediately felt the ranch vibe as we entered the corrals. The wranglers greeted us upon arrival and introduced us to our horses. Safety is key, and after a brief but thorough briefing, we set off into the serenity of the wilderness. Our guide, Ellie, was incredibly knowledgeable, and we learned about the edible plants we encountered, wildflowers and, of course, the local history of the ranch. Being surrounded by incredible mountain beauty, on horseback, with your friends is an experience that will make your summer unforgettable (no matter whether you’re a visitor or a local resident).

After our ride, the newly branded Trails End Restaurant awaited us for lunch. The cool, casual, and cozy dining room was a welcomed break from horseback and midday sunshine. And of course these cowgals were hungry! The lunch menu has something for everyone with fresh salads, hearty sandwiches and desserts to share. Our highlights? The spinach and berry salad, the crunchy chicken sandwich with the most dip-scoopable fries we’ve ever had, and the big cheese dipper.

After we filled up, a pair of UTVs and a guide awaited us for dirt, dust, sun and fun! We spent the rest of the afternoon buzzing around the endless acres that surround the ranch, with multiple Teton-gawking locations to stop at for photos and conversation. If you have a need for speed, the UTV expedition will be right up your alley! Pro Tip: Trade your cowboy hat in for a ball cap and bandana for UTV riding, and definitely don’t forget your sunglasses! Following your second adventure, transportation is ready to take you back to town in comfort and style. Don’t miss this incredible experience, book today!

Dinner and Dewrangle

The Dinner and Dewrangle experience at Turpin Meadow Ranch is the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of the downtown scene in Jackson for an evening. Leave the driving to someone else and hop into the ranch’s shuttle to enjoy the scenic late-afternoon views en route. Arrive around 5:15 p.m. and sip a handcrafted cocktail while witnessing the thrilling sight of our horses galloping to pasture.

After cocktails and horses, move into the Trails End dining room for a chef-curated dinner featuring locally inspired flavors. Start to finish, our dinner was exceptional, with a few highlights being the smoked trout dip, summer-time pasta, the pork shop and the huckleberry cheesecake. Fun Fact: The huckleberry cheesecake is made and shipped in by the ranch manager’s daughter from Oklahoma! Yes, huckleberries grow there, too!

Check out Trails End Restaurants menus and hours here.

After dinner, head back to Jackson to catch sunset photos capturing the Tetons in their golden-hour glow before returning to your home or hotel. For visitors, this unique experience will showcase what the great American West is all about. If you’re a Jackson resident, don’t miss the opportunity to act like a tourist in your own town – it’s quite fun! Book your Dinner and Dewrangle experience via the Ranch’s website.
