The K Bar is a Cozy Way to Apres

Teton Mountain Lodge interior lobbyIf you’re looking to change up your apres ski routine, or simply can’t find a spot at your favorite post-mountain watering hole, then try out the new K Bar in the lobby of Teton Mountain Lodge.

Named after chef Kevin Humphreys, who most people know from Spur Restaurant, the K Bar offers a place to lounge by the fire while sipping a morning coffee and eating a breakfast burrito, or enjoying apres ski cocktail or glass of wine and small plates.

The idea was to offer a more laid-back, relaxing atmosphere. And if you’ve ever found yourself dying to eat at Spur in the afternoon, but an empty table nowhere in sight, then K Bar is your place.

A big family style table offers a spot for larger groups, while plush couches and chairs provide others with a place to kick back. A small bar offers two specialty cocktails, wines by the glass, beer, coffee drinks and more.

The rotating menu offers popular items from Spur Restaurant (hello 307 Fries and deviled eggs), as well as new additions. It is also place where Humphreys and his team may experiment with more avant garde dishes.

The opening menu featured pig ear chilaquiles and beef empanadas (sorry, they have already rotated off). Currently we are loving the duck confit spring rolls with a cranberry relish.

K Bar is open for breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m., and apres ski cocktails and bites from 3 to 8 p.m.

Cara Rank

Also originally from the South, Cara Rank discovered cooking was a creative outlet that helped her relax after long days writing magazine and newspaper articles during the past eight years in Jackson. Really, she just missed Southern food. A lot. During a 12-year career as a journalist, Cara has won numerous awards for her work and has written about everything from rodeo queens to Dolly Parton tomatoes. She spends her weekends making jars of pickles and jam and amazing dinners for friends. She loves shishito peppers, Chicago-style hot dogs and elderflower-spiked cocktails.
