Local beloved breakfast spot, Nora’s Fish Creek Inn, has reopened it’s doors under new ownership.
Nora’s Fish Creek Inn is a Jackson legend. The building first served as the post office and general store and was later converted into a restaurant. In 1982, Nora and Marvin Tygum opened what we currently know as Nora’s, serving up diner-style breakfast for all who stopped by.
In recent years, Nora’s daughter has been running the place that we all hold near and dear. As many things in Jackson come and go, Nora’s has been a constant. That’s why, when Nora’s daughter was looking to sell the restaurant, local restauranteur, Tom Fay, found it to be his duty to preserve this part of Jackson local culture. Nora’s is now open (again!) seven days a week. They’re serving up breakfast and brunch on weekdays starting at 6:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and breakfast on weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Fay, the owner of the popular pizza joint, Pinky G’s, clearly likes to stay busy. Hosting the grand re-opening of Nora’s just a week after signing the final paper work, was no small feat. While he intends to keep classic menu items such as the banana bread French toast, and the original staff, he wants to put an updated twist on the classic diner. “There has been so much love and effort put into Nora’s, I want to honor that history” says Fay. With a fresh coat of paint, a few cosmetic changes, and some minor decor edits — including new TV’s — Nora’s feels the same, just with a Tom Fay flare.

Along with TV’s, updates will continue with grab-and-go items added to the menu, serving locals and pass commuters alike. Nora’s is a perfect stop before all your outdoor adventures, or simply your Saturday breakfast spot. The building has been around for nearly 100 years and has served many Jacksonites during that time. Now Nora’s can continue in that legacy to serve the community.
