Great Getaway – Jenny Lake Lodge

It is crazy that I have lived in Jackson Hole for approaching 20 years and had never been to Jenny Lake Lodge before this summer. And by crazy, I mean, I have been seriously missing out. This luxury property in Grand Teton National Park hosts an incredible restaurant, quaint, well-appointed guests cabins and the proximity to some of the best lakes and hikes in the park.

While the experience doesn’t come cheaply (about $700 will buy you a cabin, breakfast, dinner and some excursions like biking or horseback riding), the value of the location and the quality of the food, service and property is unparalleled in this area.

Now, did I mention the food….

Jenny lake lodge dinner

The five course dinner highlights the best of the West and offers incredible wine pairings to match, too. The enthusiastic chef offers a different menu each night, so if you want to dine more than once during your stay, you will never be bored. Locals who want to enjoy just dinner may opt to make reservations for a fun night out.

If dinner or a night in the park seem like a bit of a splurge, breakfast is a great value to explore. Jenny Lake Lodge offers an amazing breakfast menu that, while is all-inclusive for $28 a person, it is no standard buffet. Everything is made-to-order and as fresh and crisp as it should be. Don’t miss these maple crisp waffles with a homemade huckleberry butter. A fun tip: get up early, go for a hike and book a late brunch. They serve breakfast until 10:30 a.m.

Jenny Lake Lodge BreakfastJenny Lake Lodge is open for the season until Oct. 4. I hope to go back again soon!
