Bin22 Launches its own Wine

Bin 22 bottlesSince Bin22 opened in December, the wine shop, tapas bar and small grocer has continued to expand its offerings.

And now, Bin22 has added its very own chardonnay and merlot. The wines are in collaboration with Waterbrook Winery (chardonnay) and Walla Walla Wine Works (merlot). Bot are from in Walla Walla, Washington.

Neil Loomis, wine and beverage director for Fine Dining Restaurant Group, and Gavin Fine, the restaurant group’s owner, were looking to bring in wines from the region. And since grapes can’t really grow here, they looked to Washington.

Loomis also wanted wines from a unique area, somewhere besides California. The wineries sent samples, and Bin22 employees tested those and gave feedback. Both are great food style, balanced wines.

The chardonnay is described as having aromas of pineapple and mango, and hints of buttery notes. The rich mouthfeel is filled with dried apricots and lingering toast notes.

The merlot offers bright aromatics of dark cherry, rosehips and earthy notes.  The soft palate is interwoven with flavors of jammy summer berries, leaving a sublte oak nuance on the finish.

Normally $18.99 a bottle, Bin 22 is now offering $1 off bottles for the launch.

And if you haven’t noticed, Fine Dining has branded its decadent ice creams made by pastry chef Chad Horton. They’re calling it Cream and Sugar, and the rotating assortment of flavors is available for retail at Bin22 (blue cheese sour cherry, Wyoming Whiskey, salty caramel, to name a few).

She spends her weekends making jars of pickles and jam and amazing dinners for friends. She loves shishito peppers, Chicago-style hot dogs and elderflower-spiked cocktails.
