New Taqueria CASA Opens this Summer at Caldera House

There’s a new taqueria pop-up at the base of the tram, and it won’t break the bank.

CASA opened its doors on June 4 at the Caldera House’s alpine lounge and patio, a relaxed spot for tacos, margs, and fresh Mexican-inspired cuisine in Teton Village.

Open now through October 9, CASA is serving up traditional Mexican fare as well as unique spins on some of the classics. Order a chicken quesadilla or pork carnitas taco if you gravitate towards familiar flavors, while creative menu items like charred brussels sprouts tostadas with refried black beans, drunken raisins, pepitas, pomegranate and a fried egg, are a reminder of Caldera House Executive Chef Michael O’Dowd’s affinity for creativity.

“Caldera House launched CASA as a fun summer experience while our restaurant is closed for renovations,” said Eric Kirkenmeier, Caldera House general manager. “We wanted to give our employees a great environment, and to be good neighbors to everyone in Teton village by offering an exciting and affordable dining option.”

Tacos are served a la carte, with tasty veggie-forward options like eggplant and spring squash tacos topped with spinach and crispy garbanzo beans as well as crispy fish and marinated steak wrapped in CASA’s house tortillas.

Even if you only have time for a cocktail and apps on the deck, CASA’s summer libations are fresh, sippable, and served by the pitcher (in the case of spicy margs and sangria), a laidback spot with contagious summer vibes. End your night with cinnamon sugar churros dipped in Mexican chocolate and sweet cream because, well, why not?

Prices are reasonable, too. Tacos are $4-7, $10 for a chicken quesadilla, $5 for house chips and salsa. A pitcher of spicy margarita and sangria are available for $38 (four drinks in one). Simple and elegant, CASA brings an accessible and local-friendly vibe to the Caldera House, a great place to pull up a chair after a hike or bike ride, or grab a seat on the deck and watch the action unfold.

CASA is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the summer.
