Basecamp, at the base of Teton Pass, is a must stop for people near Wilson. Teton Pass is a mecca for mountain biking for all levels in the summer, camping options and amazing backcountry ski terrain for all levels in the winter.
The wine expert on site, Allee Cooper, has created an amazing selection for the store with a wide variety of trendy and obscure wines – something to fit most any palate. I stopped into chat about some wines that would pair excellently after a day of getting “sendy” around Wilson.

- O&T Les Gourmets 2019 Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine France out of the Loire Valley
With bright fruit, crispness and minerality, the chalkly soils give these sauvignon blanc beautiful acidity. Grab a chilled bottle, it makes your life easier with a twist top. This bottle is perfect if you need to quench your thirst after riding up Old Pass Road.
- Angles & Cowboys Rosé out of Sonoma
This predominately grenache based rosé has lively berry fruit flavors and is dry and refreshing. The label just says “drink me after Wyoming adventures”. Drink pink anytime anywhere!
- Sr. Niño Tempranillo 2018 from Ribera del Duero, Spain
This is a Juicy, fruity, red wine with a hint of pepper spice and earthiness. Served this bottle with a light chill after a hot day. Dust off those shorts, have some laughs with friends and enjoy it over tacos from Streetfood. Don’t be afraid to pop in an ice cube or two is you feel like it, as you should drink your wine how you like.
- Folicelo Il Rosso, Lambrusco, Emilia, Italy
Try this cold, dry and slightly fizzy red wine – yes please! When you need to celebrate your first run down Jimmy’s Mom, but full bubbles seem over the top, this tannic, cherry fruit and fizzy red wine is the head nod and fist bump to celebrate with.
- Maschitano Rosso, Aglianico del Vulture, Basilicata, Italy
Pronounced Ionic-co, this dark red wine is grown in the volcanic soils around Mount Vulture. Its has deep red fruits, medium tannic structure and minerality you can taste that would be great after a full day recreating. This wine will be amazing with the steak dinner or a burger.
