Jackson has some great spots to get your juice fix, and I think there can never be too many juicing places in one town, small or big. For all the juicers out there, I have some great news for you: A delivery juice service that will customize creations is now in town.
Thicker Than Water, owned and operated by Jackson native Jenn Reno, is a juice company focused on creating healthy juices and specific blends for those experiencing health or energy ailments.
Growing up, Reno was an athlete and was always into health and nutrition. She was injured a lot and suffered from chronic body pain. After multiple doctor visits and surgeries, Reno was never fully cured of her ailments.
Living in Los Angeles, she saw juice bars everywhere. In the midst of her personal training career, a client once suggested juicing and brought her one to try. She loved it, and started researching home juicing. After learning a lot about how juicing can improve physical ailments, she starting creating juices at her home and sharing them with her family.
Reno left LA and had to say goodbye to her career as a personal trainer due to the recent onset of arthritis. After moving back to Jackson, she realized she wanted to help others who also suffer from chronic physical pain, and Thicker Than Water was born. The name is a play off the phrase, “Blood is thicker than water.” Reno was inspired by the idea that like family, health comes first.
Not only is Reno devoted to personal health, but she is also dedicated to improving others’ health.
“I just want to take everything healthy from earth and shove it in people’s faces,” Reno said. We could all use a little bit of that enthusiasm and passion for health.
As of now, there are four concoctions to choose from. Customers can also customize a juice based on their specific needs. If you aren’t sure what ingredients you need for a juice, Reno will find out what’s ailing you, do a little research, and come up with a suitable concoction.
The four juices that are available now come in 16 ounce jars for $10 and 32 ounce jars for $18. For each bottle returned, you will get a $1 credit toward your next juice:
- kale, cucumber, lemon, green grapes, pineapple
- beet, carrot, apple, ginger
- apple, lemon, ginger, cayenne
- almond milk: cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, honey
