Streetfood Serves up Delicious Food on Both Sides of Teton Pass

There are some restaurants that stand the test of time, and undoubtedly, Streetfood at the Stagecoach is one of them. Whether it’s a plate of al pastor tacos, a bibimbap bowl or a big basket of truffle fries, the globally-inspired menu always seems to hit the spot. And with two other restaurants—Butter Cafe and Wanderlust Bistro—a food truck, and full service catering business, owners Marcos Hernandez and Amelia Hatchard don’t seem to ever slow down. “Casual food, but really well made,” sums up Hatchard. That’s the essence of their businesses.

While many Jackson locals frequent the Streetfood location in the Coach, the owners have upped their offerings quite a bit on the Idaho side of Teton Pass, with Butter Cafe and Wanderlust Bistro at Teton Valley Resort. Their food truck serves both sides of the pass, dishing up the Streetfood menu at Music on Main in the summer as well as events on the Jackson side. Butter and Streetfood stay open through the whole off season, which owner Amelia Hatchard says has always been a priority since they serve so many locals.

While we’re looking forward to long summer evenings on the lawn of the Coach, here’s a run down of all the other ways you can enjoy what Streetfood is cooking up this summer.

Wanderlust Bistro

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (starting again in late May), Wanderlust Bistro is nestled in the heart of Teton Valley Resort – a hidden gem along Pine Creek Pass that offers a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of Jackson. It’s Hatchard and Hernandez’ third restaurant, which brings the same Streetfood vibe to the Victor crowd. Wanderlust is open to the public (“a lot of people think we’re only open for people staying at the resort, which isn’t true,” clarifies Hatchard), with a spacious outdoor seating area, a private upstairs space available for parties, and a cozy cafe with sit-down and grab-and-go offerings. Favorites from the Streetfood menu are served up for lunch and dinner, as well as breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches and coffee for a quick bite before a big adventure.

Butter Cafe

“We believe that butter makes everything better,” says Hatchard. Hernandez and Hatchard opened Butter in downtown Victor in 2018 to fill the gap in brunch offerings on the Idaho side, with creative twists on classics like Elvis French Toast (banana bread french toast with peanut butter cream, banana chips, and bacon jam) and the ever-loved Mexican grilled cheese (smokey poblano butter, caramelized onions, grilled pineapple, al pastor ham, manchego and jalapeño aioli on a sliced brioche). Breakfast and lunch are both served from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Hatchard says they might expand their hours as summer traffic picks up.

Catering

Streetfood’s food truck is available for hire on both sides of the pass for special events, as well as full-service catering offerings that range from buffet-style to plated four-course meals at weddings. “We have a lot of fun creating custom menus with global flair,” says Hatchard. “Being fun and creative with different items that are unexpected but you don’t see on a lot of menus is what we really enjoy.”
