Rooftop Dining at The Cloudveil

As the sun begins to sink lower in the sky, an elevated dining experience awaits at The Cloudveil hotel, in downtown Jackson. The rooftop at The Cloudveil overlooking the Town Square is the crown jewel of the high-end hotel. Here, the beautiful views of the mountains and buttes that surround Jackson Hole are complemented by a food and drink menu that will encourage guests to sit and nosh well into the evening.

A few operational changes have made visiting and enjoying the rooftop even easier this summer. First and foremost, a calendar of when the rooftop is open is now available online. Service begins at 5 p.m. on the days the rooftop is open, and seating first-come, first-serve for walk-in only.

For those looking to plan a special celebration or event, there is the option of semi-private reservations on the rooftop. Whether it’s a milestone birthday party or a small gathering with friends, guests have the opportunity to reserve a section of the rooftop for their exclusive use. With a minimum requirement and fees associated, this option provides a tailored experience for those seeking a more intimate setting. Bookings of this nature can be made through Fine Dining Restaurant Group’s events and catering department.

This summer, the menu offerings remain consistent—with a selection of appetizers and share-ables. From the seared tuna tataki, to the grilled heirloom carrots, each dish is vibrant and flavorful. The margherita pizza or pizza of the day is slightly more filling but tastes just as fresh as its menu counterparts. Diners will find the citrus marinated olives to be simultaneously savory and bright, while the charcuterie plate offers a little something for everyone. Also new this summer is table service on the rooftop. Previously, guests placed their orders at the bar, but this year, visitors can enjoy dedicated service throughout the rooftop.

When it comes to the rooftop’s beverage offerings, guests can quench their thirst with local craft beer and cider options, a range of red and white wines, or a selection of signature cocktails. The cocktail selection includes a spicy ginger margarita—featuring reposado tequila, ginger liqueur, pineapple, lime and spicy bitters for a tropical kick, an espresso martini that offers a rich blend of vanilla vodka, espresso, Kahlua and Baileys, and a cocktail called the Red Head that combines Cappelletti aperitivo, Prosecco and lime for a delightful burst of flavor. If those don’t fit your fancy, a full bar ensures no one goes thirsty on the rooftop.

In addition to the regular dining experience, the rooftop will host two events this summer season: a Bastille Day celebration on July 14, and a National Oyster Day party on August 5. Tickets for these events will be available for purchase via Open Table.

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
