Rendezvous Bistro Celebrates the End of an Era

Since opening in July 2001, Rendezvous Bistro has made an impact on the Jackson Hole dining scene. When September 11, 2001 rocked the country, Rendezvous Bistro was there to provide a sense of gathering, to celebrate family, friends, and the community, positioning the restaurant as a sort of “camp dining room” for Jackson Hole, bringing guests back time and time again. Now, after 20 years Rendezvous Bistro will close its doors at the end of winter 2021.

For 20 years, Rendezvous Bistro has been a home-away-from-home for guests. It is a place where hundreds of couples celebrated their engagements and weddings. The venue Jackson Hole families have spent birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and meet-the-parents meals…After two decades, with thousands of fond memories and an eager outlook on the future, the time has come to lower the curtain on the restaurant that began what is now Fine Dining Restaurant Group.

Throughout the years guests have flocked to Rendezvous Bistro for happy hour drinks and fresh oysters on the half shell, and to enjoy weekly specials like the fried chicken, and scallops. Over time, favorite menu items have included the tuna tartare, the roasted half chicken, the bistro meatloaf, and the croquet madame.

Rendezvous Bistro has been the starting point for many Jackson Hole professionals to test their skills serving and bussing tables, bartending and making food. The first person ever hired to work at Rendezvous Bistro, Neil Loomis, started out as a bartender and is now the Wine and Beverage Director for all of Fine Dining Restaurant Group. Several other individuals like Loomis, who began their careers at the restaurant early on, are now working throughout the company in the front and back-of-house, and also within the leadership team.

Guests will have until the end of the winter season 2021 to enjoy the tuna tartare, a favorite seat at the bar, the corner booth, or a burger and a beer after an epic power day. During the next few months, Rendezvous Bistro will be hosting a series of COVID-19 friendly events, for both dine-in and take-out, celebrating what locals love most.

And just as one door closes, another opens. Fine Dining Restaurant Group‘s newest edition, The Bistro, will open spring 2021 inside The Cloudveil hotel, located on Jackson Hole’s iconic Town Square. The Bistro will offer European style sidewalk dining, seasonal, beautifully prepared dishes, an inspired cocktail menu, interesting wine list, and a modern comfortable atmosphere with a one-of-a-kind dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Locals will even find a few similarities on the menu, like a robust raw bar and other French favorites.

It felt like the right time to end one chapter and begin another. We look forward to sticking to our French bistro roots, while creating a completely new dining experience for guests with the opening of The Bistro. Just as we did 20 years ago with Rendezvous Bistro, we hope to usher in the new Jackson Hole “camp dining room,” as well as a whole new set of memories for our locals and visitors.
