Post-shift pick-me-ups: Best ways stifle hunger in the Hole

For most of the service industry, it is another day, another dollar right now…. But with summer in full swing, there’s still time to take advantage of the 15+ hours of sunlight after you clock out. Head over to one of these late-night Jackson Hole staples and get a taste of post-work grub.

If you happen to get off work early…

Don’t pass up Cuttys’ happy hour, which runs from Monday to Friday from 4-6 pm. “Serving the food [they] grew up on,” Cuttys boasts, Philadelphia flair is few and far between in the mountain west. So stick to your guns and order one of Cuttys’ Philly cheesesteaks — which range from the original steak, cheese and grilled onions to their buffalo chicken Philly — before 9 pm.

Itching to catch a post-work sunset?

Your best bet is just south of town. The Bird’s back porch is a local favorite for sunset junkies and beer lovers alike. Go for their classic wings and spice them up with ghost peppers or Carolina reapers, or get The Works — a bacon, cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms — on one of their 9 ounce ground brisket burgers. “The Bird is a laid back spot with a staff of humans who really and truly give a damn about you having a good time,” they say, and we couldn’t agree more.

Grabbing a quick, post-work bite before heading to the Silver Dollar for Bluegrass Tuesday?

Look no further than right across Broadway — where Pinky G’s serves fresh pizza from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Our favorite? The Funky Chicken — fresh basil pesto, ricotta, mozz, chicken, artichoke hearts and red onions.

A long day’s work isn’t complete without a cool drink to wash your shift down.

Taste summer with The Liquor Store’s current sloshie selection. Their mango berry smash — made with wild berries, pomegranate, mango and gin — will be your new go-to for a post-work river float. The Summer Mirage — which includes mango, margarita and whiskey — is a tropical twist on the classic margarita.
