Pick up a Pumpkin

Dornan’s and the Mangy Moose both offer fall fun this weekend.

Dornan’s is hosting their third annual pumpkin patch on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pumpkin patch will feature baked goods, crafts, raffle, face-painting and food from the Dornan’s Chuckwagon to support the Moose Corner Children Academy

Entry into the pumpkin patch is free (with a suggested donation of $5 per family). All proceeds from the event will all go the non-profit, which is one of the only preschools located within a national park. The preschool services parents who work for the park as well as the community surrounding the park.

At the event food will be for sale from the Dornan’s Chuckwagon featuring burgers, hotdogs, soda and beer to keep you warm and full while picking your pumpkin. Fall themed baked goods, made by the parents of children who attend Moose Corner Children’s Academy, will also be available to purchase.

A raffle and silent auction will also take place throughout the day. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. In the raffle you could win: a gift basket from The Bunnery, Cowboy Coaster tickets at Snow King, Pinky G’s gift cards and more. At the silent auction you could win: a New West Knifeworks knife, Eco Tours or Wildlife Safaris gift cards and more!

Pumpkins are available on a first come basis and in previous years have sold out. Get there early to have the best selection of pumpkins and find one the fits your family. All kids and families are welcome but please leave your furry (dog) friends at home.

Now that you have your pumpkins, head to the Mangy Moose on Sunday for pumpkin carving on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Saddle up at the deck outside the saloon and enjoy some pumpkin cheesecake and pie while you work. Pumpkins will be provided, so you just need to bring carving tools.
