Must-Try Winter Cocktails

Capping off a snowy winter day with a round of cocktails is one of my favorite parts of the season. From happy hour espresso martinis, to cozy cocktails with warm spices and festive garnishes, we have no problem sipping our way through the coldest months.

Here are a few of our favorite seasonal cocktails you can order around town this winter.

CORSA, Espresso Martini

Find a seat at the new CORSA bar for aprés ski and enjoy a twist on a classic. The new Italian spot in Teton Village (where OYG used to be in the Caldera House) is a happening spot for drinks and apps after a day on the hill, or a cozy dinner in the chalet-inspired booths. We love their simple, yet well-balanced espresso martini; espresso, vodka and Frangelico lets the ingredients do the talking. CORSA is also open for lunch, if that’s more your thing.

Glorietta, Prairie Schooner

Squeezing into a booth at Glorietta while snow falls outside the window is about as good as it gets in the winter. The Prairie Schooner is a fun winter option, with Botanist gin, Bergamot liqueur, house made lime and grape cordial, lavender and matcha bitters and orange blossom.

“It’s a return of the Gimlet to its roots as a stirred drink with a lime cordial, rather than shaken, with fresh lime juice,” says Glorietta’s head bartender Ryan Fitzgerald. “The small measure of Bergamot and the orange blossom add a layer of floral complexity, and the bitterness and depth of the matcha and lavender round it out. It’s a bracing way to start a meal that gets your palate ready for the hearty foods we’re serving this winter.”

Gather, Jackson Bee

I love anything with mezcal during the cooler months, and Gather’s Jackson Bee is one of my favorite winter cocktails in town. Mezcal, tequila, lemon, honey and cardamom bitters lend a slightly smoky (but not overpowering) flavor – a nice middle ground even for those who aren’t crazy about mezcal. Hints of cardamom and honey add a warm winter feel, although it’s overall a pretty light sipper.
