Sweet treats…

You’ll have no trouble satisfying a sweet tooth with these local treats. Persephone Bakery offers a selection of goodies all under $25. Christmas coal, emergency s’more kits, peppermint marshmallows and drinking chocolate, are fun for the entire family. (Have you heard that Anthropologie thinks so, too? The national chain is selling some Persephone products!)

Give the gift of holiday classics, with Coop And Co‘s holiday meringue kisses, or artisanal macaroons. Each macaron is baked and filled by hand, using local ingredients and seasonal flavors. Purchase a monthly mac club membership, for yourself or a friend, and receive one dozen seasonally flavored macarons delivered to your door, once per month. December mac club flavors include white chocolate peppermint, mocha, gingerbread, vanilla bean, raspberry and dulce de leche.

A fun and easy at-home gift for the kids is the brownie for one from Happy Hannah Cakes. Owner, Sarah Stanley, specializes in top 9 free, allergy friendly baking. The brownie for one, comes in a mason jar filled with a brownie mixture of organic ingredients. All that’s left to do is add water, your choice of cooking oil, and cook in the oven or microwave.

Not to be forgotten, Yippy I-O Candy Co offers build-your-own candy assortments from old fashioned bulk bins. Dig in to Jelly Bellies, taffies, and every fun gummy treat under the sun, plus a delicious selection of homemade fudge, fresh popcorn and chocolates.

For the gift that keeps on giving, a portion of all proceeds made by Tram Jam will be donated to Coombs Outdoors. Making its debut this season, Tram Jam, founded by Lisa Roarke, is an old fashioned gift idea, created from an old family recipe. In just three weeks time, Tram Jam is booming and now boasts a brand new website, an Instagram account, ships nationwide and has raised close to $700 for the cause.

And whether you’re the ‘hostess with the mostest’ or stepping up your hostess gift game this holiday Mursell’s Sweet Shop has festive baking decorations, and great party favors like sparklers. Choose from a variety of flavored hot cocoas for dessert, some from as far away as Budapest. And the shelves are stocked with classic chocolates and candies like ring pops, candy cigarettes, pez, smarties, pop rocks, and gum balls.

Sip and savour…

There is nothing like the gift of libations! A nice glass of locally made alcohol by a warm fire, a cold local brew after an epic day on the mountain, or all the fixins’ to make that speciality cocktail without leaving the comfort of your own home, are sure to bring a smile to someone special, this holiday season.

stillworks

For those at-home speciality cocktails JH Still Works is the place to stock up on your favorite bottles of handmade Absaroka Double Cask Gin 49, Still Works Vodka, or Great Grey Gin. Shop logo hoodies, beanies, mens and women’s t-shirts, and baseball caps, all under $30. Or buy your friends, and yourself, a Silipint cup and save fifty cents off every sloshie or hot beverage purchase.

Local breweries, like Roadhouse Brewing Co., Melvin Brewing, and Snake River Brewing offer a variety of flavors and styles to choose from for the craft beer lover, and can be purchased at any of our liquor stores.

A cold winter night by the fire is the perfect setting for a glass of Wyoming Whiskey. This world-class distillery, located in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming, has plenty to offer the bourbon lover in your life. Choose between the award-winning small batch bourbon whiskey, and the bi-annual double cask bourbon whiskey, released just last week. This five year bourbon is seasoned by Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, and yields a smooth and impressively complex spirit. Next week will be the annual release of the single barrel bourbon whiskey, considered the top one percent of Wyoming Whiskey bourbon. The most elusive of all, is the eight year 10 month Outryder. An amazingly complex high rye whiskey that bridges the gap between bourbon and rye. Private stock is sold at TLS, Westside, Bin22, Cowboy Bar, and Mangy Moose. Great for stocking stuffers, the 375ml bottles are also available for purchase.

Another local favorite, and 2021 Good Food Award finalist is Farmstead Cider. With five varieties to choose from, give the gift of fresh, locally bottled cider, made from Wyoming and Rocky Mountain apples.

Chefs choice…

For the chef, give the gift of fresh, homegrown, local greens with a winter 2021 farm share from Vertical Harvest. For Jackson residents only, the share begins Jan. 8, and comes filled with six or eight weeks of fresh produce, and access to brand new products like edible flowers, and more.

Vertical Harvest

Or treat your family and local friends to a Vertical Harvest Holiday Harvest Box. The holiday box features a holiday petite blend of Chinese cabbage, purple kale, rosie pac choi, and edible flowers, live micro-greens, Teton tomatoes, rosemary bread made by Bread & Blossom, and specialty hard cheese made by Winter Winds Farm. This gift will impress everyone at a Christmas celebration. Quantities are limited so place your order by Dec. 19, for pickup or delivery on Wednesday Dec. 23.

Protein packed options include craft meats from Bovine & Swine. Natural cased beef hot dogs, beer brats, andouille, and a variety of house made sausages are available for local purchase and nationwide shipping.

JH Buffalo Meat Co offers a wide selection of buffalo, elk and gourmet gift packs for whatever your price range may be.

For protein with a twist, a box of Cafe Genevieve‘s pig candy is sure to be a big hit. Featured on Food Network’s “Triple D,” the thick applewood smoked bacon, is cooked in house daily, coated with a blend of sugars and spices and baked low-and-slow for the perfect bite.

And remember an easy and appreciated gift for anyone on your holiday list is a gift card to their favorite local restaurant. Gift cards are offered at a number of restaurants in and around the valley, good for dine-in and take out.

Food and Fitness come hand in hand for this Central New York native. Coaching fitness is a first passion, but exploring new restaurants, sampling seasonal dishes and tasting fresh new flavors is a very, very close second. I love food and sharing a good meal with friends can be a highlight to any day.
