The new options will tempt you to order an Italian beer alongside your dinner next time.
As the world’s largest producer of wine, beer usually isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when we think of Italy. But a glance at Glorietta’s beverage menu suggests that there are some fantastic Italian beers out there, we just might not have come across them yet.
“Unbeknownst to many people, Italy actually makes some great beer,” says Glorietta sommelier Daniel Veit. “A lot of people come into restaurants here to get a local beer (and we have that too), but we wanted to bring something a little more unique to the table, and there are a lot of unique Italian beers we’re serving now that pair really well with our menu.”
Veit recently brought in a variety of Italian micro brews to the beverage menu, a new dimension with which to appreciate and share the artisan creations that come out of the vibrant country. “Ultimately we brought these in to complement our food,” says Veit. “A lot of these beers have a flavor and profile that people are familiar with, but with a little more going on.”
New offerings on the Glorietta menu include a Grado Plato Strada San Felice, an amber lager brewed with chestnuts from Chieri, a Baladin Nora, an herb and spice ale from Piozzo and a Del Ducato Chrysopolis, a Lambic sour from Soragna.

Sometimes a beer pairing is even better than a wine pairing. Culinary-wise, Italy is a place we’ve looked to for a long time, a place where they are pushing the edge of culinary boundaries, and I think we’re seeing the same thing with Italian beer.
