Get to Know Graze Garden and Home

“Everyone who comes in here is happy, especially this time of year.” Among bountiful rows of newly delivered hanging baskets and tables teeming with flower cartons, that was Hillary Munro’s main takeaway when asked how her first spring at the helm of Graze Garden and Home was going.

The garden center off US-89 sunset its life as Twigs Garden Center earlier this spring, when Munro reached a deal with the previous owner, Rebecca Clough, who has since served as a mentor to the new owners during this busy time. “My husband and I had heard from word of mouth that the previous owner was ready to retire,” Munro explained. Armed with a passion for gardening, Munro jumped into the business at record speed—unveiling the rebranded garden center in May just after the deal was closed in April.

Considering Munro’s background, the move seems like an ideal extension of her business, Graze Living, which she started in 2015. A styling and event business, Graze Living has served as an outlet through which she’s been able to share her passion and affinity for design, entertaining, and creating things by hand. As such, the nursery’s main building now offers Munro the chance to showcase home items that are complimentary to the garden center’s main purpose—think linens, table settings and décor, houseplants, and more. Meanwhile, the expansive property will facilitate future workshops.

“The volume is a little overwhelming,” Munro commented, “but it feels good.” Despite—or perhaps in light of—a spring that’s been characterized by frequent showers and thunderstorms, home gardeners are bustling between the flowers at the garden center in search of the perfect mix of annuals, perennials, and planting accessories to add to their homes. And Graze has them covered: offering an expansive range of plants that are up for the challenge presented by Jackson’s mountain climate.

Located at 890 S. Highway 89, Graze Garden and Home is open seven days a week. Prior to visiting, find inspiration at GrazeGardenandHome.com or on the shop’s Instagram.

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
