Fire + Vine at The Virginian: Where Backcountry Meets Backyard BBQ

If you thought summer in Jackson Hole couldn’t get any hotter, think again: things will be heating up this August at The Virginian Lodge during an event that blends the rustic charm of backcountry cooking, with the comforting vibes of a neighborhood barbecue. On Wednesday, Aug. 14, the scenic Courtyard at The Virginian Lodge will host the inaugural Fire + Vine dinner experience. This one-of-a-kind backyard bash promises to be an evening of culinary exploration and delightful camaraderie, featuring chefs Sarah Glover and Eric Navratil.

What to Expect

At the heart of Fire + Vine is the art of open-fire cooking. Chef Sarah Glover, a nature-inspired chef celebrated for her innovative approach to outdoor cooking, will join forces with The Virginian’s own Chef Eric Navratil. Together, they will create a four-course feast that celebrates the bounty of summer with locally sourced ingredients.

Imagine savoring the rich flavors of whole pickin’ pigs and Dutch ovens brimming with seasonal vegetables, all cooked over an open flame. Each course will be expertly paired with wines that enhance the flavors of the dishes, providing a perfect balance to the smoky, charred goodness from the fire.

Added Ambiance

Adding to the ambiance, Joe Hunt will serenade guests with sweet melodies, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This event is more than just a dinner; it’s a community gathering where friends, old and new, come together to celebrate good food, good wine, and good company.

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
