Farmstead began forageing apples from trees throughout neighborhoods in Jackson that were attracting wildlife. Soon the hunt grew to include 50 different varieties of apples from areas around Rexburg, Idaho, to pears from Lander, local cherries and crabapples from old trees in town, and other fruits found within the Jackson city limits.

We quickly discovered an entire urban orchard in our own backyard, and the hardy apples we found are of incredible quality and diversity.

Help in Farmstead’s mission to pick local apples and prevent wildlife conflicts by reporting the location of apple trees in Teton County, and by signing the email list. The more fruit that is foraged from these areas, the more it will help reduce animal conflicts with dogs, cars, and humans.
