Eat the Rainbow, Find Healthy New Favorites at J’s Juice

They say with old age comes smarter choices. But for 15-year-old Jordyn Kantor, choosing to eating vegan two years ago, was the best decision that she has ever made. The young founder of J’s Juice (found on Instagram as jsjuicejh), located inside the Teton Sports Club in Wilson, Kantor hopes to share her love of plant-based foods with the community by offering fresh made smoothies, bowls and cold pressed juices.

Health isn’t just for one age group only, it’s for everyone. I’m trying to show people thats it’s important to invest in your health.

Jordyn Kantor, Founder of J’s Juice

A lover of fitness, Kantor has been an athlete for most of her young life, participating in soccer, gymnastics, cross country, track, and alpine skiing. As an athlete she struggled with proper nutrition and after facing symptoms of brain fog, sore muscles, inflammation, and then a serious skiing accident, she set off on her own to “eat the rainbow.” She began taking plant based nutrition courses and cooking, her parents call it “veganizing,” or substituting plant based foods for ingredients in typical household meals.

Kantor’s personal favorite, I’ve got the Blues, smoothie bowl, is made with banana, mango, and blue spirulina. Bowl toppings include granola, goji berries, cacao nibs, and your choice of nut butter.

This is something I really like to do, and I want to do more of it. You don’t have to be super into fitness to be into health.

Kantor uses organic fruits, vegetables, and superfoods to create extra colorful recipes. She aims to share refreshing, healthy homemade smoothie bowls, like the tropical açai, the Green Queen, the Blackout, with activated charcoal powder, and her personal favorite I’ve got the Blues, made with banana, mango and blue spirulina. Each 18-ounce smoothie bowl comes with two complementary toppings including fresh fruit, chia or hemp seeds, sliced almonds, Goji berries, coconut, and more.

Food and Fitness come hand in hand for this Central New York native. Coaching fitness is a first passion, but exploring new restaurants, sampling seasonal dishes and tasting fresh new flavors is a very, very close second. I love food and sharing a good meal with friends can be a highlight to any day.
