Beat the Heat: it’s Sloshie Season

If there’s one thing Jackson Hole locals argue about, it’s who makes the best sloshie. And as the Fourth of July rolls in, everyone is dishing their opinions. So we’re giving you all the hot (or cold) sloshie takes this week. Find out which ones our seasonal workers like best and how they’re planning to sip them on them this summer.

Jackson Hole Still Works

Still Works started a sloshie competition on their Instagram where they’re encouraging followers to vote for their favorite sloshie via head-to-head match-ups on Still Work’s Instagram stories. Each week, one voter will be randomly selected and offered two free sloshies for participating. Last week’s winner? The Honey Hound: Still Works’ vodka, grapefruit, honey and orange blossom syrup — the perfect pregame to your July 4th Jackson Lake outing.

The Rose

The Rose server Alissa Zack is sticking to her guns with the bar’s very own Jack and Coke sloshie. Zack usually drinks this crowd pleaser while dancing the night away at the bar (when she isn’t working, of course). And while the Jack and Coke is here for a good time, it’s not for a long time — be on the lookout for some new flavors in the coming weeks at The Rose.

Bud’s Eastside Liquor

Although 3 Creek server Jenna McFarland’s winter go-to was Bud’s Eastside Liquor’s Mudslide, she’s shaking things up to quench her heat wave thirst. And Bud’s strawberry lemonade does just that. “I’m excited to drink one of those, float the Snake and cool off — definitely a change of pace from my backpacking trip last week,” McFarland said.

Rations

Rations is serving up a margarita spinoff: a spicy mango margarita sloshie. An update to their winter version, a jalapeño cucumber margarita, the spicy mango marg is a surefire way to beat the heat.

Hoback Market

When asked who makes the best sloshie in the valley, Jackson Hole Paragliding Facilitator Caitlin Jackson didn’t even hesitate: Hoback Market. And Jackson doesn’t mind making the long drive from work in the village to south of town to get her hands on one — as long as she follows her sloshie escapade with a river float or hot springs detour. Jackson can’t even choose which she likes most. “God I don’t even know; they’re all so good,” she said when asked to pick just one for our sloshie roundup. Choosing just one would be like picking a favorite child, she said, but, if Jackson must, she’ll go for Hoback Market’s ginger with whiskey any day. “They f-you up while still tasting so good,” she quipped.
