When Mekki Jaidi first visited Jackson in the summer of 2012, he knew he had to find a way to make the Tetons his permanent home. “My (now) wife and I desperately wanted to move to Jackson even though we didn’t have an elaborate plan for how to make it work,” he remembers.
On a whim, he quit his job in New York, moved to Jackson, and started Outpost, a local vacation and rental property management company.
Outpost JH employs over 100 people in Jackson, and Jaidi is constantly on the lookout for how to support and get involved with the community he loves. “From sponsoring soccer teams at Coombs Outdoors to working on committees at the Chamber of Commerce and the Land Trust, I love the daily interactions I have with the people here in the valley, and I want to continue to do my best to continue to support and help the community thrive.”

What is your favorite place to dine out in Jackson?
My wife and I always try to make it out to the Snake River Grill for our date nights. With two kids, we find that the Grill’s welcoming staff and its cozy ambiance makes for the perfect night out. I love the chef’s creativity and always elect to try the specials.
Any go-to take-out places since COVID?
Orsetto has been our favorite takeout spot because of their consistent ability to deliver delicious, timely orders! Whether it be in the heat of the summer or the offseason, we can always depend on them to be there when we log onto ChowNow.
What is your favorite specialty cocktail in town?
While I love Local’s creative concoctions, I am always a sucker for Jackson Hole Still Works’ lavender lemonade sloshie. Travis, Chad, and the gang have not only nailed down the right consistency of their sloshes, but their vodka and gin matches perfectly with the ingredients of each of their offerings.
What is your favorite lunch and dinner spot?
My favorite lunch spot is a tie between The Bistro and Local. The buffalo tartare at Local is exceptional and the steak tartare at The Bistro is a favorite, given they add texture with crunched up chips within the dish!
If you were to go out for a treat, what’s your go to and where?
It’s always a treat to enjoy Provisions donuts. Chefs Clark and Chas are incredibly creative and talented. Whenever I have the opportunity to eat anything from Provisions, I always find myself lost in the explosion of the taste each bite packs.
