A Local Taste: Artist and Owner of Full Circle Frameworks Shares His Favorite Foods

Since 2002, Full Circle Frameworks, a custom picture frame shop, located on Mercill Ave., has offered a wide selection of framing options for any home. Owned by local craftsman, artist, outdoor enthusiast, and DJ, Rocky Vertone is a ‘framer for the people.’ The east coast native moved to Jackson Hole in 1991 where he began framing for Wild By Nature Gallery before starting his own business. With over 20 years of experience framing art, Vertone aims to provide service at its best.

I do all kinds of framing. I’m a people person. I’m a framer for the people.

A lover of the outdoors and winter sports, Vertone originally relocated to the Tetons to snowboard. When he is not in the shop he can be found snow machining and sled skiing in the backcountry. This husband and father, also enjoys skateboarding, dirt biking, camping, fishing, and taking mini trips with his family.

Full Circle Frameworks is not just a frame shop. It’s my life and my style. I am committed to helping the contemporary art scene in Jackson co-exist with the ‘city’ of Jackson.

Vertone enjoying his favorite cocktail at Teton Tiger, the Bombay Buck with gin.

We asked this local business owner and all around creative guy where some of his favorite food and beverages can be found around town.

What is your favorite restaurant to dine-out in Jackson?

I love Teton Tiger. The food is always good. We get treated really well. I love trying different things on the menu. We love it to-go too!

What is your favorite specialty cocktail, or favorite beverage in town?

The Bombay Buck with gin at Teton Tiger and the Old Fashioned at The Rose.

What restaurants have been your go-to since COVID-19 for take-out?

We’ve gotten a lot of takeout from Picas. It’s close to home and I can have a marg while I’m waiting for our food. And we like The Nooner from Liberty Burger – a burger with egg and ham. My kid likes a good burger.

What is your favorite spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

For breakfast it’s a D.O.G. burrito before snow machining. For lunch, the chicken torta at Pearl Street Market is my favorite sandwich, with a bag of chips and a La Croix. And, there’s the Abe Froman at Pinky G’s Pizzeria, Liberty Burger for their burgers, the Snake River Grill is a staple, I love the brussel sprouts at Gather, and I like Cultivate Cafe. I thought it was a pretty rad spot.

What is your favorite food? And what restaurant serves it best?

I love cheesesteaks and Cutty’s makes a pretty mean cheesesteak. I used to live in Philly and it’s the closest to the real Philly that I’ve had. It’s overflowing with meat and sautéed mushrooms, onions, peppers, and cheese. And the pizza, Cutty’s knows what’s up as an East-coaster.

Food and Fitness come hand in hand for this Central New York native. Coaching fitness is a first passion, but exploring new restaurants, sampling seasonal dishes and tasting fresh new flavors is a very, very close second. I love food and sharing a good meal with friends can be a highlight to any day.
