Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse Returns

Located on the bottom floor of the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, a speakeasy steakhouse has opened its doors once again!

Originally opened in 1995, The Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse temporarily closed down in March of 2020. It reopened as Paulie’s Alta Cucina, an Italian restaurant run by a well-known Jackson chef. After Paulie’s closed last year, ownership set into motion a plan to return the restaurant to its roots with chef Jeremy Horn at the helm.

The Cowboy Steakhouse dining room is decorated with photos of the bar and restaurant throughout history.

The grand opening is tentatively planned for the end of June, but the restaurant is currently open for dinner at 5:30 p.m. every night of the week, slinging whiskey, wine and choice cuts of meat. Reservations are highly recommended through Resy, and bar seats are first-come, first-served.

While there are no saddles at the bar, the atmosphere inside pulls from the western décor of the bar upstairs. Silver dollars adorn the bar top, and photos of The Cowboy Bar and Steakhouse throughout history hang on the walls. Slide into a plush leather booth and order an old fashioned, margarita or gin martini from the classic cocktail menu featuring many locally made spirits. An extensive wine list will thrill anyone looking for the perfect match for their steak.

The new dinner menu is chock full of steak and seafood, with potatoes and veggies rounding out the options. The menu includes starters such as mini crab cakes, Prince Edward Island mussels, grilled lamb lollipops, lobster bisque and five different salad options.

The steak cuts are sourced from Double R Ranch in Washington state and are served à la carte. Choose from the melt-in-your-mouth grilled beef tenderloin, N.Y. strip steak, elk tenderloin, or if you’re feeling especially hungry, check out the 24-ounce dry aged beef porterhouse. Sides include grilled asparagus with a poached egg, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and french fries. If you’re interested in a more traditional entrée approach, two burgers are on the menu, as well as salmon, trout, lobster tail and creamy wild mushroom risotto.

If you still have room after that, pair your coffee or digestif with a strawberry trifle, crème brûlée or Baileys cheesecake. Then dance your cares away upstairs to live music at the landmark Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
