How Nutrition Can Help

Some of you might recognize me from my previous column, Will Hunt for Food. Or, you might recognize my name from the bottom of the dessert menus at any of Blue Collar Restaurant Group’s restaurants. This time around, instead of talking about tramping through the mountains or feeding you with sugar, I’m talking about nutrition. I’m hoping I don’t lose my followers as I explore healthy topics. There is a lot to learn, so please let me explain.

I wasn’t dealt the best deck of cards when it comes to my health. I’ve always been very active, but wondered why I never had any energy. Not to mention, the dozens of trips to the hospital, surgeries and diagnosed illnesses. Long story short, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and decided to take my health into my own hands.

About six years ago, I started researching the link between poor nutrition and disease. I took nutrition classes in culinary school and researched on my own every chance I got. Since then, I’ve reset my liver after having my gallbladder removed, changed my thyroid from being under active to normal, kept a steady and healthy weight, and gave myself a new spring in my step. Most recently, I battled through a chemotherapy treatment, fought against the symptoms from chemically induced menopause and managed my autoimmune disease, all with my nutrition program. Feeling the wonderful effects of my own success, I decided it was my mission to help women and children who suffer like I did. I put another notch on my belt, holistic nutrition counselor, and I’m ready to go.

I have created three different nutrition counseling programs that are all done online. Most importantly, a client gets a program designed specifically for them. Food likes, dislikes, habits, medications, symptoms and lifestyle are all considered. Also, everyone is glad to hear that I am not a fan of canceling out any of the good stuff completely. Yes, you read that right. If you can’t live without my pastries from Dolce, or steaks for dinner, don’t fret. My program leaves room for your weaknesses. This is beneficial in creating a realistic lifestyle plan.

I have a consultation, a two month program, and a six month program available. All can be done via email, but I also welcome Skype, phone and in-home chats. I welcome anybody from Jackson Hole or the rest of the world, if you have a friend or family member in need. The two and six month programs are designed to provide the client with enough knowledge and confidence to be able to manage their nutrition on their own for a lifetime. I specialize in nutrition for women and children. More specifically; nutrition for pregnancy, infertility, Endometriosis, menopause, infant and adolescent, depression, weight loss, and autoimmune disease. However, I am not limited to these conditions. To inquire, shoot me an email at malorie.harris@yahoo.com. Or, check out my programs at www.hn4w.etsy
