Popping Open Some Holiday Cheer

Between Christmas parties, New Years Eve, and powder day blowouts, there is no question this is the most festive time of the year. There are few better ways to kick off these celebratory occasions than with bubbles. Champagne has always been the beverage of choice for parties, and while there is no doubt it is great on its own, it’s becoming an increasingly popular addition to cocktails for it’s effervescence and subtle flavors. There are a couple places around Jackson spiking drinks with holiday cheer, here are some of our favorites.

The from Local

The Chilly Bison from Local

Local: Most Champagne drinks are on the lighter side. Local’s is a different take on your classic fizzy beverage. The Chilly Bison is served with green tea infused Wyoming Whiskey, pink peppercorn simple syrup, honey, lemon, and Peychauds bitters. This is a drink that will keep you warm and refreshed on a cold winter night.

Il Villaggio Osteria is a perfect place to enjoy some bubbles after a long day on the slopes, and their ginger bellini is a refreshing way to cozy up to the bar. Served with prosecco, peach nectar and ginger, this sparkling beverage is a perfect accompaniment to one of their gourmet pizzas.

Snake River Grill’s Italian Spritz is a refreshing start to any meal. Boodles gin is mixed with Aperol, prosecco and fresh lime. Grab one at the bar and check out their new winter menu, chock full of amazing seasonal specials along with a few old favorites.

Persephone Bakery: What is better than a warm Persephone coffee in the morning? How about a bellini with that croissant? The hip downtown bakery whips up a bellini that incorporates winter flavors. La Marca prosecco is coupled with pear puree, allspice dram, vanilla, and served with a sugar rim

Rendezvous Bistro: The Bistro Bellini is a great take on the classic Italian cocktail. Prosecco is mixed with peach nectar and a splash of Chambord to create a light and refreshing drink. Try pairing it with one of their fresh fish dishes like Idaho trout or seared sea scallops, their popular Friday night special.

Mimosas at Picnic

Mimosas at Picnic

Picnic: There are plenty of mimosas floating around the breakfast circuit; however, not all are created equal. Picnic aces their take by using fresh squeezed orange juice and Gruet sparkling wine. With just the right Champagne to juice ratio, it is the perfect accompaniment to one of their hearty breakfast toasts.

The Kitchen has just launched its new winter menu full of fresh ingredients and Asian influenced flavors. The same is true for their revamped cocktail menu. The Shiso 75 is their take on the classic French 75, with shiso infused gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and cava. Try it during their happy hour from 5:30 to 6 nightly.

Want to make your own? Bin 22, Jackson Whole Grocer, Liquor Down South and The Liquor Store all have great options for prosecco, sparkling wine, and champagne and extremely knowledgeable staff to direct you in the right direction whether your looking for a French 75 or classic mimosa.

Chris Hogberg

Food and cooking has been a great travel buddy for Chris, finally taking root in Jackson. Originally from Seattle, Chris enjoys rainy walks to get coffee, cold dark beers, and cozying up in a warm restaurant kitchen. He has a background in marketing but has spent most of his days working in fine dining behind the line. Now you can find him selling hummus, perusing the farmers markets, or mountain biking behind his Aussie Shephard, Zephyr.
