Out to Lunch

The Jackson Hole lunch break seems to be quite a varied experience compared to a lot of places. We don’t get droves of employees pouring out of office buildings at the crack of noon to grab a bite. With the typical 9 to 5’ers seemingly a rarity in town, lunch doesn’t necessarily have to be your traditional grab and go affair. There are a few places in town that are embracing the lunch break with some great deals to encourage you to sit down, stay awhile, and not feel like you dropped half your paycheck on a midday meal. Here are a few lunch special highlights.

Mouthwatering tacos from Hatch

Hatch has put together a great option for people wanting a departure from their typical lunchtime sandwich. The $10 menu features your choice of soup (tortilla or corn bisque) or salad (Caesar or house) and two tacos (barbacoa, camerones, pescado, carne asada, verduras, and tinga de pollo). Stop in from 11:30 to 2:30 Tuesday through Sunday to get a little spice in your lunch life.

The Indian has a few different enticing lunchtime deals to make sure you make the most of your midday break. Monday through Friday, enjoy 10 percent off your bill if your job matches up with the corresponding professional deal of the day. The list can be found here, just bring in a pay stub or proof of employment and reap the rewards. Also be sure to follow them on instagram @theindianjh for daily specials.

Pinky G’s has one of the longest standing lunch deals in town. No frills, great prices, and just what you need to make it through your day; choose from a $5 slice and a tall boy, $5 shot and a tall boy, or $7 salad, slice and soda.

If you are looking for more of a liquid lunch with a tasty bite to eat, check out Local. They are offering one of their single burgers or hand-cranked sausages plus a cold beer for $10. Don’t forget that if you miss lunch you can catch an early 4 p.m. happy hour snack or half priced drink at the bar too.

Wanting to go out and not break the bank? The Silver Dollar Bar and Grill is a great option. Their $6 lunch special is a half soup and sandwich for $6 or whole sandwich for $8 and the choices rotate daily.

With most lunch spots open until 2:30 or 3 p.m. even those of us with oddball schedules don’t have an excuse on skipping out on that midday meal. With so many reasonably priced options around too, next time your dreading what’s in your lunch box, treat yourself to something out on the town.
