Moe’s Smokin’ Specials

Moe’s Original Bar B Que has revived the old Ripley’s building off Town Square to bring locals and visitors alike affordable, delicious Alabama-style barbecue. And now owners Tom Fay and David Fogg have created a tantalizing menu of daily specials, including free dessert every Monday; Wing & Whiskey Wednesday; and Soul Food Sundays. In addition, every weekday, kids eat for $1 with the purchase of a meal or platter.

To wash it all down, Moe’s is running a happy hour every weekday from 4-6 p.m. that offers smoked wings and pulled pork nachos, a $5 shot & tallboy, $1 off specialty drinks and $4 drafts. Currently on draft are the Jenny Lake Lager, Bud Light, Black Butte Porter, and Hubert MPA.  In addition to the daily specials, Moe’s serves a late night menu until 1 a.m. or later on Friday and Saturday.

Late last year, Fay and Fogg transformed the old space into a lively barbecue setting complete with two full bars, huge HDTVs, shuffle board, and foosball tables. Moe’s smokes its menu of meats fresh daily, and its selection of specialty sides changes daily to include: butter beans, collard greens, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, and more, in addition to the baked beans, slaw, potato salad, chips, and banana puddin’ that have earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
