Locals Appreciation Weekend at Snow King Mountain

It’s looking like this bout of bad weather is going to pass us by, clearing up just in time for a weekend of outdoor activities in honor of Snow King Mountain’s Locals Appreciation Weekend.

Kick off the weekend’s festivities Friday, September 13, with Snow King Mountain Resort’s first annual Oktoberfest at the Rafferty Center. From 5-8 p.m. enjoy live music by Aaron Davis and the Mystery Machine while imbibing tasty brews from local breweries. Participating breweries include: Roadhouse Brewing Co., Snake River Brewing, Upslope Brewing, StillWest Brewery & Grill, Black Tooth Brewing Company, Lander Brewing Company, Grand Teton Brewing and Melvin Brewing Co. $25 gets you four beer or food tokens, an 80th Anniversary Snow King Mountain pint glass and one ride on the Cowboy Coaster. Additional tokens are $6. If you purchase your tickets in advanced, online, HERE, you’ll receive one extra token.locals appreciation

Saturday evening, Snow King Mountain will host Rescuefest, to benefit Teton Country Search & Rescue. From 5-7 p.m. on the Grand Lawn, participate in a silent auction and raffle while enjoying cocktails, beer, bites and live music.

All weekend long (through Sunday), the 80-year-old Snow King Mountain is showing its appreciation for members of the local community by offering BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) on all summer activities. And that’s only the start of the deals! This weekend is your last opportunity to receive early season pricing on all winter 2019-2020 ski passes and uphill travel passes. Finally, your kiddos will receive a free ski pass when you sign them up for ski school by September 15.alpine slide

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
