Whether you are a fan of Kim Degman’s Korean fare like her bi bim bap, or you prefer standard American options such as a burger, chili and fries, Kim’s Corner, recently transported to inside the Jackson Hole Recreation and Events Center (formerly Snow King Center), has it all.
Degman, who has developed a following during the last couple of years in the corner spot of Powderhorn Mall and at the Jackson Hole Farmers Market, wanted to offer the skiers at Snow King a spot this winter to dine and warm up. She didn’t want to take away the beloved burgers that were on the menu when the restaurant was called the Cougar’s Den, so she decided to offer both menus: the Korean fare she was making in her former spot and the American style burgers and fries the Cougar’s Den was famous for.
With the larger space, Degman plans to expand her menu to offer more items in general. She opened the doors, with her husband on New Year’s Day and is starting out slowly, with homemade chili, burgers, daily hot and cold sandwich offerings and more. Since the restaurant opens every day at 9:30 a.m., she is also doing smoothies, coffee and breakfast items such as waffles and egg sandwiches.
She plans to add her Korean favorites to the menu soon and gradually add more fusion-style dishes.
“Nothing is out of the box,” said cook Mathew Degman. “It is all homemade.”
The prices are a great deal, with nothing over $10 on the menu. Current hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, but the pair said they would stay open on demand (like to service the Moose hockey crowd).
Degman said she was excited for this opportunity “to bring new life into the town hill.”
“I would love to be a help to make the area around Snow King successful,” she said.
She is hoping for community support and feedback, so let her know what you think! [/threecol_two] [threecol_one_last]
