Keeping the Dream Alive: Jackson Hole Brewing Company

Jackson Hole Brewing Company was established in 2012 by Matt Jenkins and is now run by his loving family in honor of Matt. Four years ago, Jenkins passed away, and his family decided to move from Seattle to Jackson to carry out his dream of owning his own brewing company. Jackson Hole Brewing Company specializes in unique, creative and craft brews with high quality and local ingredients. J.H.B.C. focuses on values of supporting the community, using local products, reducing the amount of waste, sustainability, and creating exceptional brews.

winJenkins started home brewing and left his recipes for his family to follow. They have tweaked different recipes to create different seasonal and small batch brews but keep the same brewing base as Matt. The J.H.B.C. won Best of Show Beer 2015 at the Old West Brew Fest for Matt’s Wyld Ginger IPA, Jenkin’s original recipe. Charolette, Jenkin’s mother, enjoys word playing on the different names of the beers. Wyld comes from WY for Wyoming and LD for land showcasing that this was Jenkins Wyoming Land inspired beer.

There are currently four craft beers that J.H.B.C. is producing including Matt’s Wyld Ginger IPA, the Static Peak Stout, the Barrel Aged Heritage Ale and the Alpine Dark Ale. There are also seasonal, small-batch brews in the making, including a ginger peach ale (the GPA). None of the brews are very hoppy and are available for keg orders. You can also try the different beers on tap at Pizzeria Caldera and Turpin Meadow Ranch.

Mollie Flaherty

Mollie is a native Cape Codder who learned at an early age how to put a lobster to sleep, harvest cranberries, and dig for clams. After high school she followed her sense of adventure out west to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with marketing and communication degrees. She found herself making roots in Jackson, her fiance’s hometown, and using her sales skills combined with her love of anything delicious to join the Dishing sales team. She loves baking from scratch, large glasses of red wine, and hiking with her heeler, Newton. She’ll try anything, but remains a stuck up Cape Codder when it comes to seafood. If she didn’t catch it or see it come off the boat, don’t even try tempting her.
