Iron Chef Competition Today

There’s nothing we like more than a little healthy competition.

Or a chance to see the heat put on some of our favorite chefs.

Today, the Jackson Hole People’s Market will pit chef against chef in our own Iron Chef-style competition. Each team of two chefs must work together to create a unique dish using three local secret ingredients. The chefs don’t find out what the secret ingredients are until they start cooking.

Defending their title are Joel Cox and Eric Wilson from Aspens Market. They’ll face off with Couloir‘s Clark “Porky” Myers and Mike “Lenny” Britton, Fine Dining Group’s Roger Freedman and Paul O’Connor, and Wild Grass Restaurant’s Jay Lafferty and Hillary Porter.

What are the secret ingredients going to be? Who do you think is going to win? Leave us a comment below, and you may just win something for picking correctly.

Each team will be given 10 minutes to prepare a menu and one hour to create a dish. Each dish will be judged on taste, presentation and originality.

Judges for the event will be Bob Arndt (former owner of Harvest Cafe and Jackson Whole Grocer), Jed Restuccia from Cosmic Apple Gardens, Kendall Russell from Larks Meadow Farms, and Nona Yehia from EYE Designs and Vertical Harvest.

The People’s Market also will be holding a silent auction for the public to bid on becoming a judge for the competition or to get a plate of food from a chef of their choice.

The event is sponsored by Snake River Grill, Fine Dining Group, Cosmic Apple Gardens, Couloir Restaurant and Aspens Market.

May the best chefs win!
