Inside Spring Creek Ranch’s Fifth Season Special

The cold and snow has a steady hold on the valley these days, welcoming us not quite into winter yet, but definitely a sort of Wyoming “fifth season.” At least, that’s what Spring Creek Ranch is calling it during their Fifth Season Special. Before you bundle up and prepare your home for hibernation, consider getting cozy at a Spring Creek Ranch stay-cation.

At first glance, this package includes dinner for two, overnight accommodation in a deluxe hotel room and breakfast before your morning departure. However, you’re getting so much more than that. spring creek ranch

Lodging

The price for this package starts at $205 per night for a double occupancy room (*resort fee, alcohol, gratuity and taxes not included). The deluxe hotel rooms feature a single king or two queen size beds, an in-room log fireplace and outdoor deck–most of which include sweeping views of the snowy Teton Range. This bird’s-eye view of the changing fall foliage is unparalleled, not to mention the ambiance provided by the wild sounds of bugling elk and howling coyotes.granary spring creek ranch

Food

Dinner for two–what does that mean? On a superior menu of starters, salads and entrees, I’d be skeptical too. But don’t be. Your package includes a shared starter, two salads and two entrees…any entrees. Warm up after the brisk walk from the car with the potato leek soup or maple-bourbon glazed kabocha squash. The salads are rich with fall flavors as well: incorporating apples and beets, or elevating a classic Caesar with smoked trout. For the main event, it’s equally difficult to decide. Perhaps, start by picking your protein. From scallops to Bison short ribs and roasted duck breast to Rocky Mountain elk loin, there are oh so many entrees and far too little time. All I can promise you is that there is no wrong choice! Each plate is wholly unique, and guarantees an unforgettable experience.granary

Drinks

Drinks are not included in your package, but you’re getting such a deal, we encourage you to splurge–whether it’s on your favorites or a walk on the wild side. The folks behind the bar at The Granary know more than a thing or two about the cocktail game. As tempted as you might be to pair your red meat with reliable red wine, you might regret missing a stunning cocktail creation of gin and sage, or ending the meal with quite possibly the best espresso martini you’ve never had. Go ahead, step outside the box on this one.granary spring creek ranch

This package is available Thursday-Saturday through December 21. Book early enough, and you might just be swayed to treat yourself to multiple stays. As an added bonus: Friday nights are Jazz nights in the Granary and Saturdays you’ll be treated to the sweet sounds of the Piano Bar.

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
