Guy Fieri Helps Pinky G’s Choose New Pizzas

You may remember this spring Pinky G’s ran a contest with Dishing and asked people to dream up ideas for new pizzas for the permanent menu. Many great suggestions came in, and through an Instagram poll, owner Tom Fay narrowed it down to a few finalists. The new pizzas looked so good that the voting was too close to decide.

So, what is a guy to do? Turn to Guy Fieri, of course. The chef personality for the Food Network has featured Pinky G’s in a past episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and came back to Jackson for a newer version of the show, called Triple D Nation, in which Fieri catches up with some of his favorites spots.

Fieri went to Pinky G’s earlier this summer with his camera crew in tow and helped Fay choose two new pizzas to add to the menu. Starting Friday, Fieri’s versions of pies in the running for spots on the menu will be available. The first, Return of the G, features ricotta cheese, blue cheese crumbles, shredded mozzarella, roasted chicken, shredded pepperoni, and a buffalo hot sauce drizzle over the top. After it is baked to perfection, it gets more hot sauce and a drizzle of cold blue cheese dressing to finish it off.

The Meatball Parm is the other new pie being released tomorrow. It features handmade meatballs, a red sauce base, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It is baked and gets finished with a drizzle of marinara sauce on top.

At 7 p.m. Friday there will be a viewing party at Pinky G’s to watch the episode in which Fieri picks the pies. “We were very lucky to be able to have Guy come in and help us decide between the pizzas the community voted for. He helped refine the ideas and added an extra kicker to the pies,” Fay said.

Celebrate with Fay and his crew, or be sure to catch it at home on the Food Network. Don’t miss a chance to try both by the slice all day that day, or order a whole one anytime you like from then on.
