Good Food in Ogden – Who Knew?

I never would have thought this but I now have more than one reason to visit Ogden, Utah one a year to play hockey: for the food! I was their for our annual spring hockey tournament last weekend and left fairly shocked by the quality of the meals we have over the weekend.

I know from time to time everyone in Jackson has to get out and ends up going down to Utah to either run city errands and/or play sports. Next time you find yourself in the area, don’t be afraid. You can eat some great meals.

Try these surprisingly good spots!

For breakfast: Jeremiah’s

This crowded spot has classic hearty breakfast dishes and a large enough menu to please everyone. There is a good reason there is usually a line out the door. The prices are reasonable and portions are overdone. Don’t let the name scare you away – they even serve alcohol.

For lunch: Nate’s East Cost Grill

Options are simple but well done burgers, Philly’s and sandwiches. The bonus? Crispy hand cut fries, cooked to order and served with fry sauce. Best I’ve had in a long time.

Dinner: Bombay Grill

No joke, I would drive back to Ogden just to have dinner here again. An extensive menu offers all your favorites and a few new dishes to try (mango chicken curry) and a full selection of naan that will leave you satisfied and hopefully not stuffed. Bring your own drinks here and leave pleasantly surprised when your bill is ridiculously cheap! (Trust me this picture doesn’t do it justice.)

If you saved room for dessert: Farr Better Ice Cream

This quaint downtown spot is so busy at night that you have to take a number and fight your way through the crowd to view the options. There are 30 of them, in case you are wondering (think burnt almond fudge and licorice). The servings are so big a single feels like a double and the ice cream is freshly made, rich and delicious.
