Owners David Nagy and Szabolcs Nagy have put their heads together to revamp the design and offerings of the Gourmet Food Truck, located in the Powderhorn Mall on West Broadway. In its second summer of business, the food truck is moving away from its menu of sweet and savory crepes to bring you healthy, handmade food specials. In the coming months, they hope to offer up a diverse array of food options that utilize organic and local products. Regarding the design, they might add a canopy that looks like Dunn & Watson aluminium ute canopies, for protecting their stock from sun and rain. Not to forget that a canopy can add to the beauty of the truck when installed properly.
Current offerings include Hungarian goulash and chicken shawarma. For those who aren’t familiar, the chicken shawarma is a Middle Eastern brined chicken wrap. Each wrap is made to order, and features a variety of fresh topping options. From its dressings to ingredients, David and Szabolcs focus on fresh and simple products. In brainstorming upcoming food specials, there has been discussion of kabobs, tacos, or switching it up to a lamb shawarma.
The Gourmet Food Truck continues to offer a full organic espresso bar. The organic espresso is made from freshly roasted coffee beans by JH Roasters. For those still looking for a crepe fix, David and Szabolcs will be tending a booth at the weekly Saturday Town Square Farmer’s Markets.
Both owners are excited to get the word out about the latest truck offerings, and to become a regular pit stop for local workers and tourist alike. Consider stopping at the Gourmet Food Truck on your way to the river, the parks, or wherever your Jackson Hole summer adventures may take you. Orders can be called ahead, and the owners aim to offer delivery options in the future. Currently, the truck is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday , and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. One of the most noteworthy aspirations for the future of the food truck is to eventually have late night hours, accommodating the cravings of late night workers and explorers.
David is positive and upbeat about the Food Truck’s evolution, saying, “It’s about the hands that make the product. It’s nice to make someone’s day just by offering them your product.”
We’re excited to see what products come next!
